About Our Polar Bears (Ursus maritimus) view photo
According to biologists, there are somewhere in the neighborhood of 22,000
to 25,000 Polar Bears in the world, formally making them a threatened (but not quite endangered) species. Over 60% of the world's Polar Bear population live in Canada
and Wat'chee Lodge is situated in the middle
of the world's largest Polar Bear
denning area, adjacent to
Wapusk National Park.
Wat'chee Lodge has long been a coveted and jealously guarded secret of naturalists
and wildlife photographers from all over the world, but the lodge is warm and welcoming
to adventuerous travellers and vacationers as well. Wat'chee guides are indigenous to
the arctic area and their expertise is second to none. Guests of Wat'chee Lodge can
fully enjoy a perfectly safe yet unforgettable
world class experience!
